Wow, you’re just powering through! That’s great. I hope you’ve been warned about how long some of the episodes get, especially episodes 5-6. This is where the callbacks start to really happen. Thinking about Roy and why he had a problem with Trent…Back in Season 2 in Rainbows, as he’s a pundit, right before his big realization he wants to coach, he’s asked how a 17-year old will do in his debut. Roy says “I don’t know, he’s 17. He’ll probably have chips for dinner and a wank before bed.” Now knowing his reason for hating Trent just gives that season 2 moment a bigger thing. It wasn’t just that he loved coaching that he wanted to leave, but he was also asked to do the thing that he hated the most about pundits just before that. I *LOVE* this writing. One last thing: Zava is very much inspired by a real player, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He is one of the most fantastically gifted players. I really like Roy talking about why he left Chelsea and how both Ted and Trent clearly pick up on that he's not *just* talking about Chelsea, with the "sport is one heck of a metaphor" - how he walked away from Keeley before she had the chance to get tired of him. Which is very Roy and makes sense from what we saw towards the end of last season, when he said how she looked so good in that photoshoot on her own without him, his comment about how she wouldn't have time for him now that she was gonna be running her own firm, etc. It hurts my heart, though.

He broke the cycle when he refused to put expectations and judgement on a 17-year-old.

Love Jamie’s accent and how he says names especially. Trent Crimm rules. He’s a good guy. Dani played in El Chapo’s Youth League! Ha! Zava and his asparagus. The actor who plays him is married to Dichen Lachman from Severance. Roy really talking about Keeley when he was talking about not being worthy of his former team and wishing he had stayed. 💔 You have to communicate your stinking thinking to your partner or it will control you & screw things up. Yep, I agree Ted will go back home at the end. I like Nate but hate his words and actions. I understand what they are trying to do with the character. Once he works through his issues he will be on his way to being a better person. I hope he can make amends. I’m always impressed with how Angela picks up on things before they happen. Only a Jedi can do such things 🤔

Just for quick reference zava is loosely based on the real football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The same way that Nate is inspired by Jose Mourinho.
