Yes, that was Laenor Velaryon at the end riding his dragon, Sea Smoke. He's the son of Corlys, and nephew of Corlys' brother Vaemond. Laenor is the one that Lyonel Strong proposed as a potential match for Rhaenyra. Normally, Velaryons aren't dragonriders, like Corlys told Daemon at the end of last episode, but Laenor is also the son of Rhaenys Targaryen, so he's got that dragonrider blood. We also saw Lyonel's two sons, I thought their introduction was very weak, very blink-and-you'll-miss-it. One of them is Larys, the one with the bad foot that sat next to the ladies in the tent munching on a cookie. The other one is Harwin 'Breakbones', like Viserys called him, said to be the strongest knight in the realm, he was the one that was grinning at Rhaenyra as she was coming back to camp. Oh and did you notice Viserys is now missing two fingers on his left hand, the ones they were trying to save last episode? It was very clear in that scene where he's having his hangover tea with Alicent but it's still possible to miss it if you only concentrate on his face, which is easy to do, Paddy Considine delivers such a captivating performance of Viserys.

I'm loving these reactions so far, you pick up on a lot of stuff that so many others miss, but you also have a great emotional connection to the shows you watch, I'm excited to see what you think of the rest of the series! To address a couple of your questions that weren't already answered: I don't think that is THE Aegon Targaryen that your thinking of (I'm assuming you're thinking of Aegon the Conqueror, who essentially brought the Targaryens to Westeros). They've mentioned that particular Aegon a couple of times in the first two episodes, and even in this one they said something like "Aegon, like his namesake, was born to rule Westeros" referring to the fact that the baby is named after Aegon the Conqueror, who died about a hundred years before this show started, and who is the reason why the Targaryens are ruling Westeros at the moment. Also yeah, to most of us normal people it's gross to even consider marrying your blood relatives, but to Targaryens it wasn't just a thing that happened occasionally, like you mentioned, but it was almost expected, as they felt they needed to keep their blood "pure" in order to maintain the ability to control the dragons. One last thing, Targaryens are NOT immune to fire; Daenerys can't be burned because of the inherent magic surrounding the circumstances of the birth of her dragons. The rest of the Targs can tolerate slightly more heat than a normal person (as we see when Viserys holds his hand over a candle for a while in the previous episode, and even with Daenerys taking really hot baths before her dragons were born), but if Daemon had been fully caught in that fire blast at the end of the episode, he would have definitely died, lol.

To answer your question about Aegon, this is a different Aegon. The great council (very start of ep 1) is set in 101 AC (after conquest), so 101 years after Aegon the Conqueror (the OG) conquered Westeros with his two sister wifes. Ep 3 is set in 114 AC. As you mentioned, it can get quite confusing with so many characters sharing the same or very similar names. I guess it's quite similar to the selection of royal names the British monarchy use over and over e.g. Henry, Charles, George etc

What KJ said. This Aegon is literally Aegon II. Second of his name. Not the original Aegon.

Prince Daemon attacked under a flag of truce. Is karma coming? I think his motivation was to win without a rescue by his brother.

commenting down below, been a long time fan of your channel and all your videos! Really quickly going on to Daemon, I feel from this watch through, that the reason he attacked is the same reason why he went to war in the first place, to prove that he is worthy of being the heir. If he let his brother help, he would feel like everyone would see it as his big brother had to come bail him out again. He wants to prove to his brother and everyone he is worthy, that he can do it, that he has value. He may say he doesnt care what others say, but he really does. All he wants is his brother's love and approval, and would die trying to get it. Also, don't worry about names. You are not as bad as you may think. In a world of so many names and all, it takes time. If it makes you feel any better, I know from your stranger things reactions that you can definitely pronounce my name, Jason. Looking forward to all your future content, and will be watching all the content you have here so far!
