Yeah, the TV show manufactured a LOT of drama between characters, especially the crew, that wasn't there in the books.

The casual racism this reaction - 'Mickies'. Shameful! Some of my best friends are Martians. Also, shout out to Simon

I'm back to reading book 1 again, and am always amazed how different the character storylines are. Miller chased Holden to Eros, he didn't even know about the Anubis, and neither did Holden/crew, only the Scopuli. The crew all knew each other well, and Amos always called Holden Captain and followed his orders. There was no Kenzo, so many differences that I hope you'll read the books someday. I felt so bad when Miller finally found Julie, it was heartbreaking.

Love to see your take. This show is a joy as are the books. Thanks for sharing this. Amos is one of my favorite characters in science fiction. Keep the episodes coming! You are in for one hell of a ride.

Damn! You actually just broke the news about Nichelle Nicholls to me. One of my earliest memories is of watching Star Trek on TV as a pre school aged kid (watching from behind the couch cause it was scary.) I thought of the MLK story even before you mentioned it, the way I heard it was that Nichelle found out that Paramount was withholding her fan mail for BS racist reasons. She was hurt and insulted, and planned to quit the show. She shared her situation with friends and that is when MLK reached out to her. He asked her to reconsider, as her role was such a breakthrough for Black women. As to the episode, another great reaction! We are at the point where we are starting to get answers to some of our ongoing questions. As you are aware, this show depends on you to pay attention because any random throwaway line might turn out to be highly significant seasons from now. Now the show shifts gear, the setup has mostly been done, the show will be faster and more intense from here. Woohoo for more reactions!

Yeah, you missed Kenzo's hud info when they were outside the Blue Falcon - he informed the black ops team of their location and got a reply that the police would not respond to the incoming incident.

Someone needs to make a count of every time you mentioned the Razorback until. who knows. We were all shocked by the Julie reveal not the way story lines typically goes but no worries Its the expanse. Amos is is a fan favorite for sure. Yes please more episodes. :)

Amos is not a psychopath. He has a very strong sense of morality. But he is impulsive, and he tends to act violently because his background is violent. To his credit, he recognizes his limitations. That's why he seeks guidance from more grounded people, who he thinks are better than himself.

Enkidu

"They don't name a ship just to blow it up, do they?" You mean like the Canterbury and the Donager? Nothing is safe in the Expanse. "The Blue Falcon" Anybody getting a Humphrey Bogart vibe?

Alex Antonio

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Phoebe is unique among Saturn's moons in that it orbits in the opposite direction from the others.

Ian Hillan

Yeah, it's thought to have come from the Oort cloud and been captured by Saturns gravity.

William Timmins

This show really... lights a fuse and just takes off. IMO, this season almost feels like 2 or 3 seasons jammed together.

Gilbert Serrano

Maybe I've already mentioned this so if I'm repeating myself I apologize; the show doesn't explicitly address firearms the way the books do. It's hinted at by the sounds they make but the guns are recoilless in that the rounds are self propelled. Other wise they would be useless in low and zero gee.

The vomit bothered me! But mostly because Holden seemed sweaty but not sick. I was very emotional about Miller. I just watched 2x3 last night and will try to get through4 and 5 by the end of the weekend.

I always tell friends with young boys that they should have their kids use Amos as a role model. Also, MLK and Nichelle Nichols: https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/martin-luther-king-jr-nichelle-nichols-star-trek/
