The conversations with Zhan that didn't make much sense? It's because there was an episode that was originally planned to air before this one. They later made some adjustments and placed it later in the season. It will all make sense later on :)

I've always taken the sequence where Moya gets blasted by a Shi'ang warship to be D'Argo's dream. And I figure the burning oil covered moon had some serious exfoliating qualities for Luxan skin.

There was a detail you missed: When we first see Crais contact Scorpius and seemingly plotting to trade Crichton for Talyn, he tells Scorpius that he hasn't convinced Aeryn to tell him where Crichton is at. That was a lie. Remember, Crais was the one who told Aeryn about the asteroid with atmosphere where she could take Crichton and D'Argo. He knows exactly where they are. He was playing Scorpius as a delaying tactic.

Watching the full version allowed me to notice a pretty funny production goof. When Crais is becoming Talyn's pilot, a cable rises out of the floor and reaches towards the back of Crais' neck. While this is happening, if you look at the floor where the cable is emerging from, you will see that the prop is seemingly not quite long enough. As such, a production assistant's hand can clearly be seen raising the cable out of the ground. I don't think that's what Crais meant by "the hand of friendship."
