Yeah, seemed a bit off for me too. Honestly I've questioned in past reactions whether it was like half-a-second off, but this was more.

I'm sure someone's mentioned it by now, but if you recall, the previous Greed was heavily rebellious and went rogue. So if Father gave Greedling back those memories, then he'd immediately go against Father and the other Homunculi. So that's why Father says he'll give Gluttony his memories back, while Greedling did not.

"Avarice" is a fancy word for greed. When the previous Greed died, he mentioned the alternative fancy names for all of them. Lust the Lascivious, Envy the Jealous, Wrath the Furious, etc. Gluttony the Voracious, Sloth the Indolent, etc.
