On second tbought, this ep isn't that bad at all! It is interesting way to do a recap episode (its no ember island players but still). Hohiehiem stuggling with his demons and being saved by Trisha is a great moment oozing with foreshadowing. You mentioning Trisha as his anchor to humanity reminds me alot of Debbie/Nolan from Invincible lol

I personally love the other Fullmetal alchemist series even more that this but this is still really good anime! I definitely recommend watching both like I did. Although I cannot remember which I watched first but I did love both. From memory I think brotherhood was made better, but still it is fun to compare

I did like this episode, I don’t remember it I think around this time it’s when I stop watching the show. Feels like they are showing us the pieces and telling us finish the puzzle but I can’t figure out how. I like you theory , I was thinking the same especially when the two brothers in the suit of armor appear. I don’t know what is the answer anyway see you in the next episode, by the way your nails look incredible.

Regarding if this show will make other ones not seem good: This anime series is considered top-tier, so most other ones won't seem as good. However, most doesn't mean all. There are plenty of other shows that are excellent as well, but you have to sift thought a lot of junk to find the treasures (like with all other TV shows really).

You will be hard pressed to find another anime as good as this one- it is one of the best. That being said, there is a lot of GREAT anime out there, much like western media, it's a mix. Definitely will make recommendations as we go lol
