Listen, I love your reactions as much as anyone, but the idea that "they gotta break up" is just not good to my ears. The fact that we actually saw it in this episode, does not make it more justified IMO. Neither does the fact that they were forced to do so! I mean, I totally get why they broke up, from both perspectives... but it is not a good thing nor is it "right"! Consider this: You have a person like Mark, who gets F*ed up trying to save the most people that he is capable of... but that person shouldn't be allowed to find someone he actually loves? I mean, if you say that this person should be a superhero themselves, then it reduces any chance of finding love, from billions to hundreds at best.... if they should be able to stand up to Viltrumites, then it reduces the number to zero! How are you supposed to get anyone to sign on for that? Mark's personal life should be better protected! I mean that Cecil and his ilk should do a better job! The idea that Mark is supposed to give everything up and be a wholesome, all-good, hero is BS... Nobody would do that! They may try to and they may start out as that... but I doubt they could continue like that for years or decades!

Well, even since season one, I have been behind Amber for the most part. I don’t like that she knew he was invincible and lied about it or rather never let him know she knew. But he could never make her a priority, and she needed to be a priority. They are not a good match, regardless of how much they love each other. This is a realistic relationship. It doesn’t matter if he’s a superhero or not, he cannot give her what she needs.
