I have received inquires asking why we must went through the alpha test instead of launching the closed beta immediately after the game was approved in August. This is a good question and yes it was our fault to overlook a serious problem.

Back when we designed the harem mode last year I was expecting 2070 level cards to become mainstream mid 2021 so we were too ambitious to implement features like ray tracing and hair strand simulation - you can still find progress reports about them. Turned out due to the crypto mining craze we have to put extra effort in optimization now and have many of these hardware heavy features culled since the alpha test, lest the game won't run well on most players' rigs even with DLSS.

However optimization is not an on and off switch; those who dabbed in video game technical art are probably aware that the asset production workflow with and without ray tracing is fundamentally different, especially for light baking and reflection capture. We are still finetuning the graphics to make sure the lighting is on spot as we are testing the packaged game build.
