Operation Lovecraft Closed Beta Manual (Patreon)

I have been posting news on the closed beta in our discord server every now and then this month, however for a Patreon post the announcement needs to be more organized so here we are!

The last costume bundle and September poll is coming up later today.

• Overview

Instead of a regular update, the introduction of harem mode marked a complete overhaul to the game's sex mechanism and framework as most of the project has been essentially redeveloped from scratch.

All preparations for the closed beta has been completed. We are packaging the distribution build and connecting the game to Steam. Once it is done we will fire up the store page and file a case to apply for test keys in the coming week.

The closed beta test is the last step prior to early access. There is no open beta planned.

• Accessibility

The closed beta is accessible to patrons who have made at least one pledge by end of September, and would have accumulated enough pledge to claim a steam key in October.

However, we cannot guarantee that Steam would provide an adequate amount of test keys to everyone, so we will go with the first come first served approach. As soon as we receive the cbt keys from Steam, we will announce the launch date (which is likely within a week after we receive the keys) and at the designated time all eligible patrons would be able to claim the key from our website.

Patrons who have been Capitalist tier and above will have their keys reserved for closed beta, so they do not need to worry about missing the shot.

• Timeline

The closed beta is comprised of three phases starting from October, each lasting two months. The schedule may be altered if we encounter major issues.

Phase 1

Desktop version functionality, patches, connection and lag test

Phase 2:

VR version functionality, VR and desktop crossplay, localization, character affinity and skill system

Phase 3:

Voiced in-game prologue and tutorial, Patreon user data integration and pre-launch Stress Test
Pregnancy and egg laying
Monster Sex Traits and Abilities

Early Access:

New map: Erotes Nightclub
New Character: Celia

The player data will be deleted at the end of the second test phase, however the data in the third phase shall be carried over to the early access and official launch.

• Scope

A total of 140 sex scenes will be available in the first phase of closed beta, with 30 new scenes coming up monthly to a total of 260 before early access.

Every player will have 48 unlocked randomly from the beginning. By completing daily tasks and study from each other you may soon be able to collect all sorts of bizarre "experiments".

More details will be elaborated in a coming tutorial.

• What were we doing in September?

For those who are not in our discord server we may seem to went on radio silence - being aware of the situation of overpriced graphic cards, during September we managed to boost the framerate by 40% with an array of optimization efforts so you do not need to worry about computer being burnt to a crisp by a 30 character orgy crammed in one room.

Btw the game now officially supports Linux via Proton.
