We have put a few days work into the first new performance location, and it's time to post a quick preview of our progress.

We have the power to choose some more "hardcore" stuff and the most people want to have softcore which you can watch on every pornsite... going to buy the Aristocrat to get the more hardcore ones haha :D

I'm a bit shocked that the most voting points is for something that can be easily accessed through pretty much every other source of porn already out there. Vanilla / softcore sex is everywhere. Kink / edgier material is much more difficult to find, especially in an interactive format. If you want the project to compete with something like a relatively tame Illusion game, you could totally position Project Helix against established players. Though they weren't #1, I noticed lots of votes were cast for the kink / fetish rooms too. I'd argue that's the way to go if you want to differentiate yourself in the market and/or make money. If Project Helix doesn't depart significantly from Custom Maid 3D2 or Honey Select (or do it drastically better than), will folks actually want to spend money on it?

Well, I missed this poll, but if it was a single choice poll then kink won by a landslide, there's debate WHAT kink won. And if it were multiple choice it's hard to argue people just checked the box that mainstream goes, mainstream being mainstream. I don't see a contradiction here, I see a prioritized todo list. I am curious though, all these options are mainly positions of submission. Is this because of the game theme or is it a marketing choice to not conflict with other Patreon projects?

Vastly superior model quality, better animation and an escape from the varied as number but really very narrow selection of customization. If you're into school girl uniforms, it's fine. Unless I'm mistaken, that entire game doesn't have a single high heel, anything shiny and little body customization, trading it for 3 different types of animal ears. Very diverse but in a very narrow field, you know what I'm saying? Also, I don't know about your experience, but mine has some clipping, the camera controls are awkward and in spite of very good efforts, it's still a Japanese game badly and partly translated and ducktaped into VR. Also, supporting people who do good work.

Our presumption was that folks would love to see contents that aren't easily feasible in real life or ordinary porns, but turns out there is a substantial amount of people (quite a few high-level subscribers, at least) into softcore sex and dominant female. VIP room is the only vanilla sex scene anyway, so edgier players won't be thirsty for too long I guess.

I sponsor a number of pervy folks on Patreon, so I feel you on the whole supporting good work thing. One of the reasons why CM3D2 and Honey Select both have big followings is due to the end-user mod scene. I get the impression you've not checked out Honey Select, which has an extensive sex scene animation list (seems like much more than CM3D2, at least). I honestly don't think it would take a lot for Project Helix to surpass either one's mod scene if they released a number of decent tools and/or tutorials for how to add content. I do like Project Helix's more active use of props and toys, which is another cool thing they really have going for them. I actually studied photoreal 3d modelling, lighting, and texturing for my first degree, but have had most of that skill set fall into disuse. If I could find a way / good instructions on how to make mods (and especially if I could make some money for my time), I think it'd be a hoot to work on something for a project like this.

Have you thought about breaking the poll down not so much by location, but by specific sex acts? I wonder if that would be much more telling. (A well implemented public cum-dump would be fun to see... though sounds like it'd be tricky to implement well).

Hmmm, basically this means "plain and normal" sex which is commonplace in most porns, with no specific fetish involved.
