the prank they pulled on aki is never revealed in the manga but fujimoto recently tweeted that the prank they pulled was putting shit on aki's nose. can only hope it was Meowy's shit...

Best Chainsaw discussion yet. This was my favorite ED even though I love the thrasher metal and chaos from the 3rd one a ton. The Gun Devil’s devastation was different in the manga, showing the actual casualties and how many seconds the Gun Devil occupied each part of the globe. Since it was shown via narration and not actual dialogue from Makima, I think it was a directorial choice to omit it. The data is insane.

So, I have a controversial confession to make. Prior to this episode, this series had not really gripped me like it seems to have for everyone else. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t at risk of dropping the series or anything, it has been certainly entertaining: interesting premise, generally fun characters and obviously good production. Still, it just hadn’t hooked me. But this was the first episode that really reeled me in. Between Denji starting to have a ‘dog-chasing-cars’ experience, a glimpse at Aki’s backstory along with the Gun Devil being set up as a long-term plot point, and the freaky hotel the hunters find themselves in, I was finally beginning to find myself saying “okay, now this has my attention”. Anyways, I’m looking forward to seeing where this develops to!

The voice from the mentor type figure character you're mentioning is from Tsuda Kenjirou. He is the voice of Hannes of shingeki and Nanami in jujutsu kaisen.

This is good to see. I haven't seen any of this series past ep 1 because I didn't feel anything for it, but I'll give it another go to ep 5 after reading this comment.
