Alright guys Finally finished Season 1! thoroughly enjoyed it, very excited to continue! so this is the new viewing order for the next three videos

Edit - So the viewing order is causing some debate again, so at this point I just have to go ahead and pick the order and stick to it. If the author of the series intended Ilse's Notebook to be watched before Season 2, then I will have to go with that.

No Regrets -> Ilse's Notebook -> AoT 2x1

I was told that Ilse's Notebook was released years before season 2 so for that reason I will go ahead and watch it before season 2

I will be skipping the Intro and Title for 2x1

I posted it before but just to be sure. here man: https://drive.google.com/open?id=18GpZpdzIb_a82p_-RlBnx6ti1_AZMTqi these are just the subs ("HorribleSubs") now you can use them with the bluray version and have best of both sides. there is no sync problem with the bluray. tested it myself. I hope you see this comment.

I really appreciate these updates, but what I appreciate even more is the content of the updates. Can't wait to see your reaction :D

I honestly thought watching Ilse's Notebook first will be better, and it's placed before episode 2x1 in manga anyway.

Anonymous

Wait, do you mean you're going to watch episode 1 of season 2 before Ilses notebook? If that's what you mean I really have to recommend against that, Ilses notebook should be first.

Anonymous

Absolutely, it'd be much better that way and in the proper order.

I like your new order. Getting surprised by the main series should always take priority over side-content like the OVAs. Although I'd go on an extreme and tell you to NOT watch the Opening or Ending of S2 episodes until the end (It's too much I know, but if you want to have a fresh mind that's my recommendation, we know how your brain works!)

FILMBuFF

I do prefer to watch both those OVA episodes before I start Season 2 if it actually works out better that way, though there were some requests to watch it after 2x1

FILMBuFF

Thanks again man, hopefully the blu-ray media player on my PC lets me bring these subs in.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter which order you watch them in. Just stick with one thing and watch the episodes so people can stop flooding your mind over this. This is unrelated, but I have to give you props for your thumbnails. They're really clean and I love how you use shots from the episode that are beautiful/ cool looking, but also are unique to that specific episode. With shows like Black Mirror that's not too hard, but for example in AOT you've really nailed it.

They merely just want a crazier reaction when in reality the manga author intended the consumers to see OVA 1 first before EPI 1 of season 2. (Both Manga and Anime)

Just so you know, Ilse's notebook is part of the main series and was released in the manga much earlier than the the equivalent of s2 ep. 1. So the order the author of the series intended is clearly to watch Ilse's notebook first (the reason this OVA is not part of the first season its because it is a pretty standalone story, so it would be a bit weird to have it on the middle of the season). Also I can understand people not wanting you to watch the opening before episode 1, but the ending is a must watch IMO (and you should upload your reaction to it) just because of the amount of theory fuel it can provide.

Thanks for the updates, i appreciate it! I'm team neutral here (if that even exist) according to the order of the episodes. I really don't think it makes that much of a difference, don't really get why people make a big deal about it. So just enjoy the show as you want please! :)

I think it is overly ambitios to watch the show (both main story and side story´s) out of order because people with hindsight beleive your reaction is going to be better with the main story. I have far more trust in the people making the show and its episodes. I would even go as far to say that all S1 OVAs should be merged within watching the entire first season in between main story episodes since it creates a nice flow to side characters and side plot points ..... either way, I am looking forward to these epiosdes now as well :) Also, the end title can and should be seen after the first episode of S2 and all episodes following it. IMO it is the best ending title in the show so far, it is really worth a watch and after each episode in S2 I always used that part to think about what I´ve just seen in the episode. Furthermore, the intro song is understandibly skipped before episode 1 but after that you should always watch it. It is a good song and when you either read the english lyrics or listened to a translated version you will get pumped as fuck for all the comming episode! ;) Me and my palls always loved watching the intro before an episode as the first half of S1 since it is so epic. Here is a english version of the song; not as cool as the original version or epic with the visuals from the show but still very good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ro5orRsIMS0 NO SPOILERS in the song so it is all good :D EDIT: I would go so far that after Episode 1 you could react to the intro and outro. Very interesting stuff there that could be worth a reaction video in itself!

I dont think the order is that important, dont worry about it too much. Personally I dont think the OVAs are that important compared to the main story but they're definitely worth to watch. Actually Ilse's notebook was released between the 4th and 5th volumes which would be between chapters 13 and 14 of the anime, and No Regrets wasn't made by the same author Isayama but it contributes to the story. So yeah, just watch it in the order you want and dont worry about it too much. PS: Awesome discussions, I'm really excited for season 2 now!

Im sad I missed the debate, but props to you IM for sticking to your guns! Honestly the order matters more for reactors who dont pick on things as easily, you should be fine no matter the order.

What month revenue do you need for doing this full time? It would be awesome reach that goal

Franklin

I personally disagree with the order. Yes, even though that's how the author wrote. But it's just a matter of preference really. I'm sure you'll enjoy it either way.

Good on you bud, enjoy. These 500 comments about it throughout the last 15 AoT related posts have made it a waaaay bigger deal than it is. I stick with what I said originally, that the order doesn't matter.

I’m very sad about this decision to be honest. For everyone’s talk of authors intentions they fail to grasp that if the author truly wanted them in that order then he would have incorporated it into the main story not these side stories. Not to mention it does throw the pacing off since you don’t have to wait like most people did. So the story simply flows better if you watched S1E25 to S2E1 it’s just clunky and unnecessary

I think you're really taking it too far man. People that watched this anime in 2013 would've already watched the ovas before S2, same for the manga readers. If the author and the production team really didn't want you to see the ovas before S2, they wouldn't release it that early. For every show I watch, I watch the season and its ovas before watching the next season, since that just feels more complete before jumping to the next. So, tbh I would actually suggest him to watch all 5 ovas before jump to S2, but I know most people are just eager for S2, so I'd give up on this thought.

no problem. I do recommend u skip the intro for all season 2 episodes. until the last episode i guess... I wish someone told me to skip the intro tbh

I just watched No Regrets and Ilse's Notebook, while they're interesting to watch I don't feel that I really learned anything useful from them.
