Ahhh! Can't wait for my workday to be over so I can watch these. :D

Congrats on your prediction of the FT's identity. It isn't the hardest thing to figure out in the series, but finding most of the clues in the episodes is pretty impressive. Yes, Annie's laugh symbolizes her being relieved that she doesn't have to lie anymore. I can't imagine what it's like holding in such a secret for several years.

Turn on your location. I am sending you a basket of wholesome baked goods to show my appreciation for this review. Because you get it. You get Annie, or what the show wants us to get about Annie at this point, and I’m right there with you when you say she’s one of the most interesting characters at this point. To me, she is definitely the most fascinating character of season 1, from her powerful and deadly Titan form to the young girl whose heart and mind/motivations we can only wonder about. It earned her the top spot of my favorites list and no one has taken it from her :). And extra kudos to you for nailing the significance of her laugh. No reactor I’ve watched has ever gotten that right??? Honestly, all your thoughts/feelings about Annie mirror my own thoughts/feelings when I first watched these episodes, essentially boiling down to “I can’t pass judgment without knowing the full story, given that there are many reasons to believe she is not a bad person” (teaching Eren how to fight, crying/apologizing to Marco’s dead body, not wanting Armin and Connie to join the Scouts, showing Armin mercy, respecting Eren’s courage and honesty, telling Marlo (mushroom guy) she will help him punish the corrupt, wanting to be viewed as human). Prefacing this with "I'm an anime-only watcher": Like you, I suspect that her Titan abilities were forced upon her, like Eren, and that given a choice, she would not be doing any of what she’s doing. But that’s just my gut feeling. And I mean, taking into account that she was only 11 when she infiltrated military ranks as a spy, how much accountability are we really supposed to assign to a child?? Speaking of child Annie, I’m happy too you discussed that brief flashback to younger Annie, I’m sure I’ll hear more of your developing thoughts about them in your review to ep25 :). Ahhh what else can I say?? Just “thank you” x1000 for appreciating Annie’s character, this has been my dream reaction as a fan of Annie :’). (Also I had a big “hmmm” moment when you talked about metal and lightning because I, an EECS major, never stopped to even think about the possible physics behind the transformation lol.)

Interesting, I've never seen Annie's line about being caught in the flow/being seen as human translated to where she's specifically talking about herself. The line I usually see has her talking about wanting 'other' people who are caught in the flow being seen as human. The translation in this one seems to make more sense and is definitely more interesting.
