Page 29 WiP / analysis (Patreon)

Apologizes for the brief silence between now and the previous update. I struggled with this page a little, redrawing it a few times in the process. I tested out various layouts trying to get the sequence to end on the exact note that I wanted while still conveying all the information I needed both visually, and in dialog. Never an easy task.

In the end I decided a simple layout would be most effective, but then discovered I could bring more dynamism to it by overlapping the panels and utilizing breakouts. Here, the effect of Billy shoving his phone in Marvin's face not only makes the page more dynamic, but it also helps convey the closeness of the object by having it intrude into the panel space before it.

For the punching sequence I tried to keep the panel size roughly the same to give it a sense of quick timing. Billy's dialog is extremely brief here, lending to the feeling that the punches land one after the other, with little time passing in between. Despite some difficulty, I am still learning many things, and that gives me some confidence for the tasks ahead.

This page should be done soon, and then I'll work on some fan art for those of you in this tier... but I'm not certain who to draw 🤔....  Well, If you have a suggestion for a character you might like to see I'm all ears :)
