“Mr. Mime use physic!”

“Rydon dodge and use hammer arm!”

The two Pokémon battled until Rydon became the winner.

“Dang it, you beat me again!” Del was on his seventh year as a Pokémon journey and he just finished up an epic battle against his rival, but as always he ended up losing.

“Hey, it’s not my fault that your Mr. Mime can’t beat my Rydon. If it could I would be the one complaining here. But hey look at the bright side it was a great battle.” Giovanni put Rydon back into its poke-ball and walked over to Del.

“You know I tell you this every time that we battle, but it might be time for you to find a replacement for Mr. Mime. Don’t get me wrong you’ve train it well, but there are limits that all Pokémon have. You strong try and find one that can go even further.”

“You say that every time and every time my answer is the same, no. Mr. Mime is basically family to me, all my Pokémon are. I can’t just get rid of them because I lose a few battles with them. I know that if we train hard enough not even the elite four could stop us.”

“Well then you keep training and do so for the both of us. It’s time that start to think about my future from here on. I don’t have the drive that you have and I don’t really care about becoming champion. What I want is a world that is just and proper.”

“Well I hope that your dream for a better world comes true, as for me it’s as you said, I will become champion.” “Well I hope to see your name in the papers.”

That was a year ago. Del went and challenged the elite four and he almost one. Even the dragon master Lance had troubles dealing with him, but in the end Lance came out victorious. Del was not sad though. In fact he was happy. He achieved a level that not many could obtain, true he lost, but that was fine. It was never about winning, it was about the journey. Giovanni saw that long before Del did and he knew that being champion was probably more trouble than it was worth at this point. There weren’t that many trainers that could go against him and that made him happy as well.

However that happiness only lasted for a while before he figured out what he was turning his back to all along. As a Pokémon trainer striving to become the champion he never cared about what was happening around him, but it didn’t take him long after losing to Lance to learn about Team Rocket.

From what he found out, Team Rocket wanted to take control of the entire world using Pokémon. For this reason they would go around stealing peoples Pokémon. Del thought that this was an heinous act and decided to fight against them

For months Del fought alone against Team Rocket, but he knew that he wasn’t making that much of a difference when going after grunts. It took him a while but he finally found out where their main Kanto headquarters was located. The only problem was that it was too heavily fortified. There was no way that he alone could storm their headquarters and come out unscathed.

He tried contacting the elite four about this issue, but it would seem that they were busy dealing with Team Rocket and couldn’t help. The same could be said about the other Gym Leaders. In a short amount of time Team Rocket had grown into a major organization and everyone was fighting to stop them.

This left Del with the only choice of calling his old friend and rival Giovanni. For this past year Del had been ashamed to meet up with Giovanni because he failed. He may not have cared anyone about becoming champion, but he hated that he couldn’t live up to the hope that his friend had for him. However this was no time to feel sorry for himself, what mattered was taking down Team Rocket no matter the cost.
