Greg is what is known as an active dreamer. He is a person that knows how to control what goes on in his dream. In the real world he’s a nobody, working a shitty job and no friends. His life is the absolute worst. His bosses treat him like trash and his family doesn’t even acknowledge his existence. He has nothing to live for.

However when he dreams that becomes a different story. In his dreams he has power, and there is nothing that he can’t do. His shitty boss works for him and his co-workers that looked down upon him suffer as he sees fit. In the dream world he has the power.

Every day when he woke up he cried that the dream had to end, he wished that he could have the power to make his dreams reality. He wished that he could be the man that he saw himself in his dreams. He didn’t want to grovel for a boss that didn’t respect him and he wanted to prove that he was important enough for his family to acknowledge, but he knew that he would be nothing more than a nobody for the rest of his life.

Day after day, he lived his same miserable life, until one day he found a strange black book left in front of the door of his apartment. He picked up the book and read the title, but it was in a language that he didn’t know of. He wanted to throw the book away because he thought someone was playing a prank on him, but his curiosity got the better of him.

When he entered his apartment the first thing that he did was sit down at his kitchen table and open up the book. He was surprised to see that it was none other than one of those fake magic books that people claim to be real. Greg had always been a fan of magic ever since he was little so he decided to humor the book. He skimmed through it until he saw a chapter that caught his eye. It was called, Make a wish.

Greg instantly thought that this chapter was prefect for him to joke around with. Luckily enough the instructions were easy enough to follow, but there was one part that he couldn’t read. Greg decided to ignore that part since it had nothing to do with casting the spell. He knew that the spell wouldn’t work, but Greg wanted to see the outcome regardless.

He followed the instructions and created a pentagram on a sheet of paper with his blood. Then he spoke the spell that was described in the book. The spell was weirdly written and Greg didn’t seem to understand what he was saying himself and before he know it he had already finished.

He then waited for the spell to take effect, but nothing happened. Greg was angry at himself for even thinking that such a thing like magic was even real. In a fit of rage he threw the book into the trash and went to bed. That night was the first time in years that he found that he couldn’t control his dreams.

In his dream he was met with a demon, that demon asked Greg what he truly desired. Greg answer was obvious, he wanted his dreams to become reality. The demon agreed to Greg’s wish and then vanished.

When Greg woke up the next day he found that there was someone else in his bed. When he looked over to see who it was a hand touched his cheek. When he got a proper look at the person that was in his bed he found that it was a woman, but not just any woman, this was his bosses wife!

As he looked around he realized that he no longer was in his apartment. It had turned out that he was now living his boss’ life. Everything that he wished to be was actually real, he now had the life that he wanted. That day he went to work happy. Every employee treated him with respect as he walked into the office. This was the first day at work that he felt happy. However his happiness was short lived.

A few hours after walking up with his former boss’ life, he learned that his boss was much worse than he thought. Multiple employees had been abused by the boss and he even went as far as to sexually harass them. It was on this day that those employees had enough and Greg was taken away for the crimes that he inherited from his bosses life.

Greg’s trial did not last long as he was quickly found to be guilty. Now Greg lives in prison and he is still being treated like he was before. He no longer has happy dreams, instead he has nightmares. Greg now knows that his life may have been trash, but it was better than this. He should have never tried to make his dreams come true.
