WOW getting this out was a mission to say the least, but damn am I glad its finally up for you guys! I am already so damn intrigued by this show. The editing is very different from what I'm used to and its actually the first Korean survival show that I've ever watched!

I'm super interested to see how the girls interact with one another but also with the girls who evidently didn't make the lineup. So far I'm loving Somi - she's so sweet! I actually really want to check out a bit of her solo stuff because of this.

I think I noticed in this video that I am thinking of the girls as I know them now when watching this back - its hard to completely detach from who they are but its a bias I'm aware of. Moving forward I'm going to try and look at things as objectively as possible!

Anyway, rambling! Enjoy the video and let me know what you guys thought of Episode 1 as well. Any opinions welcome, but can I just say DAMN that is some tough love JYP gives...

Thanks for watching guys!

Big love always ❤️

To answer ur question, yes I think most of them interacted with each other before SIXTEEN, 3MIX (nayeon jeongyeon jihyo) mostly. You could already feel the Evil editing by MNET, and this is why the girls rarely reminisce about this period. This is just the start, and we'll finally see full performances

There were 7 spots in Major since there were originally supposed to be 7 members of Twice. They were being marketed as the sister group to GOT7 after all. But we "somehow" ended up with 9. You'll see.

Buckle in. SIXTEEN is a ride. Also, there are sections in future episodes where the English subtitles drop out. They start again, but I've never seen a Korean speaker watch this show. You can tell us if the translation is accurate, and you can tell us what is happening when the subtitles drop completely. I've always wondered about that.

Sav

yay i’ve been looking forward to this! unfortunately, minyoung quit being a trainee after this, and from what i’ve heard, went to america to continue her studies. i love all the girls in the show but it’s hard to watch because of how many of them loss confidence because if Sixteen :(

Sav

i’ve always wanted to know too! i believe there’s only this set of eng subs out there so i’ve always been curious about the missed subs

The three Japanese trainees (Momo, Sana, and Mina) were close prior to this show, also.

Mr Jackpots

This show didn't become controversial until Americans started watching it. The pc crowd got all upset because even though they demand delicious sausage, they don't like to see how it's made.

Thank you so much for watching Sav! To say I appreciate it is a massive understatement! Ah that sucks so much, but I hope she's been able to lead a good and enjoyable life! I bet I'm going to get even sadder but damn, this show already hits hard

lktv

Ah that would make a hell of a lot of sense my man. It's definitely unique in that regard though - pretty unapologetically cut-throat, but the shock value is actually very entertaining!

How incredibly surprising that Mr Jackpots is making a comment like this (and the one he left on the next episode). Idk if he's still a patron, if he is I guess its good that his money is going to a legitimately nice and good dude. If not then good riddance. This man has so many misogynistic and misinformed takes in youtube comments and I can't say I'm surprised to see him do the same in other places..

Sorry for the previous comment but on a lighter note!! I'm excited to watch this with you. I never watched it all the way through because of how they treated the trainees. There's being harsh and then there's being downright cruel and it easily slipped into the latter several times throughout this show. JYP being praised so much for being the most humane amongst the big 3 is always funny to me because how low are your standards?? There's a reason most stans of JYP groups do not like the man and its not unreasonable at all. Regardless whats done is done and pretty much everyone who was in the show is doing good for themselves these days so its all good and I'm happy to experience this with you :)

Well here I go again! On one hand I can't wait to see your reactions to SIXTEEN, but on the other hand, this show is traumatic to watch every time. I will add another comment after I watch lol

Okay I finished episode 1 and I already cried 2 times. I agree that JYP might initially seem like he is cold or cruel, but by the end of SIXTEEN, I actually had a lot of love and respect for JYP and the way he handles criticism and delivering bad news. He doesn't sugarcoat anything but he is also quite compassionate in his delivery. (I think a lot of the early lines we get are heavily edited and handpicked by Mnet who need to stir up as much controversy and drama as possible) Based on other Mnet shows that I have watched, I think it's safe to put most of the blame of cruelty unfairness on their shoulders, especially since we know they did the editing. I'm not saying this show will be an easy watch, I punched my wall the first time I watched it, and have cried on every subsequent viewing, but I think you will come out of it with a much greater love for TWICE and some of the other trainees as well. (this show made Chaeryeong my ITZY bias) Hopefully you find it is worth it and I look forward to seeing your reactions to the rest of SIXTEEN.
