Under normal circumstances, boy-girl relationships are complex. In Ranma's world, they take on a whole new level of complicated!

2023-10-09 20:27:24 kind of have to address this, In the manga, they don't call Tsubasa a perv for liking girls at all, that's not in the manga arc, Rumiko wrote. someone from the anime staff added that, I mean, in her first series Urusei Yatsura in the late 70s she had female characters fawning over and declaring their love for ryuunosuke one of the main female characters later in the series. I've mentioned this before, but I think the anime's changes from the manga hurt the series and much of Rumiko's work. The manga's aged quite well. This is me venting a bit, but there's a lot of misconceptions and fake news about her online due to poor sourcing and lies. For example, people claim she's homophobic because of this episode and a few other scenes, even though she wasn't involved with the anime adaptation, or they misinterpret her feelings toward her characters, like Lum, from her first series. for some reason people think she hates Lum the female love interest from her first series, because she once said her and lum are very different people, missing out the rest of what she said, that she admires Lum and wishes she was more like her, or all the other times she's talked about Lum, or the fact she has a giant life sized statue of Lum in her home, like seriously... do they think she's going to keep a giant statue of a character she hates? This story in the manga was mainly just about laughing at Ranma and his massive ego, he'll do basically anything if his ego is bruised, and this was all about seeing how far he'd go, he doesn't like dressing up as a girl, but he'll do anything to show he's number 1. all the characters have some kind of complex and are pretty awful at times, but it's what makes them fun, they're not perfect, they have actual character flaws.
