I agree, maybe he should be more like thors, don’t kill, but fight to protect and incapacitate the enemy. But you can say thors died because of that conviction of not killing askeladd that day.

It's a worthy goal to strive towards, it takes a lot more strength of character to not hit back, hopefully Thorfinn has what it takes to hold to that path
