Law and Kid just Awakened their Devil Fruits! This is a big moment for them! Remember long ago, Doflamingo said to Luffy that once Devil Fruits are mastered the user evolves into their awakened state and as a result the user can now use their devil fruit powers to greater extents to where it can have effect on their surroundings. Up to this point we’ve only seen Doflamingo and Katakuri use Awakening powers. Now both Law and Kid have that same power up. Law’s OP-OP: Usually Law creates a Room where he has a control of whatever is in his domain. Now with awakening Law can create that Room outside of his domain and allow even far greater control over his the physics of reality. Kid’s Magnet Fruit: Usually Kid can create magnets onto himself and use the metal however he likes. Now Kid can assign the magnet to other people and objects like he did to Big Mom on this episode. Now Law and Kid have reached a new pinnacle with their Awakenings! We still haven’t seen if Big Mom or Kaido have Awakened powers. And most importantly, what happens if Luffy has an awakening with the Gum Gum Fruit?

At this point of the raid I was only interested in Yamato's actions, Luffy VS Kaido and Zoro VS King. Everything else felt like filler so watching/reading these were a chore for me...

Kaido and Big Mom are certainly awakened. They've had their powers for decades and are Yonko. Big Mom especially considering how Awakenings have been about affecting others. Her Soul-Soul Fruit lets her use her soul to give things life. The awakening would be her using other people's souls. Awakened Zoans have only been technically confirmed in Impel Down, but Kaido is a mythical zone so the rules can be different. I can't elaborate cause spoilers, but Kaido not being awakened makes zero sense.

@The Abyssal Drink I would love to go into details as well because it’s an interesting topic to discuss. However, at this point Big Mom and Kaido have not been shown to have Awakened powers. Every time an Awakening occurs it’s always directly mentioned in the story, it’s never been an implied awakening. So for Big Mom and Kaido at this moment have not been stated as Awakened users.

TBH I was getting a little drained too, but IIRC at this point there were so many breaks that the pacing was being slowed by all the breaks. Otherwise I actually think all the fights had something to look forward to seeing.

Some fights were cool and it was cool to see Kid' and Law's awakenings, but like I said my focus was on the 3 things I listed*. And it's been "so long" since manga chapters came out that I don't even remember what Oda's schedule back then was, but I assume it was similar to the 3-1 that it is now. *Even Sanji VS Queen was just side dish. On other hand the ninja fight that took WAY TOO FUCKING LONG TO FINISH was some junk that I would not eat on my plate...

I have to agree with Mat, I wished Toei and Oda would have focused on each fight as its own singular storyline than bounce all over the place. I don't mind a little intersection here and there where we at least see the characters spar a little with no major shift in the balance, just to maybe hint that "this" fight will take precendence next. The Tobi Roppo in particular feel a bit wasted since we don't know much about Sasaki or Black Maria, we got at least something out of Who's Who and Page One/Ulti had enough personality that a backstory was not necessary, but all the same, I felt like Doffy's crew got better treatment, especially considering Diamante, Bellamy, Pedro, and Mr. Sniffles. Mind you we're in the latter end of the arc the only remaining antagonists are Apoo, Queen, Fuku aka Mr. Lobes, King, CP0, Big Mom, Orochi, Kanzenbo, and Kaido. Orochi is imo not going to fight anyone, Kanzenbo is just a creature made by Kanjuro, and we have the battle lines drawn with the rest: Luffy vs Kaido Kidd and Law vs Big Mom and her Homies Queen vs Sanji King vs Zoro Fuku vs Raizo Its looking like Yamato will somehow take out Kanzenbo and I believe CP0 are after Nico Robin, but she has a mostly fresh Brook to protect and support her.

I was not even interested in Zoro vs King anymore at this point tbh, Wano was an absolute mess and is the main reason why i've afterwards put One Piece on hiatus.

@gunchar I have to disagree Wano has to be one of the best arcs in the series. You should binge read the whole arc, it’s a better experience. And going on hiatus right now, definitely should consider jumping back on now because manga has been 10/10 since after Wano.

It’s happening this way with bouncing because there are multiple events occurring all at once and that’s effective to each battle as well. So that’s why things are taking place simultaneously, it’s a bit different structure than Alabasta or W7, but it’s the plot moving alongside the fights. I do agree that some things could had been tweaked to make the fights fleshed out better.

@Brother E Sorry but if that would be one of the best arcs in the series i would've already stopped reading One Piece over a decade ago, Wano was full of endless asspulls, lose ends en-mass(and something like the completely forgotten small but notable build-up over multiple arcs for Luffy defeating Big Mom and not Kaido, is just one of the most harmless examples for that in Wano), the constant jumping around between way too many fights and other events at once, way too much content that felt like it should be from fillers(in the manga) and of course fake-deaths again, not just one but two jobbing + ridiculously incompetent Emporers(they must have won their status at Bingo or something, and let me not even start about BM's absolutely pathetic crew minus Katakuri, even the Silver Surfer would feel bad if he would hear about Smoothie's crazy jobbing-streak XD) in combo with Extra thick plot armor for almost everyone on the side of the heroes, Oden Sue(i've rarely seen a bigger prime example of a Mary Sue/Gary Sue than that guy outside of fan-fiction, and there would've been countless of better ways for Yamato's theme to still work), etc...(that was just out of the top of my head, there were a lot more issues). I wouldn't be surprised if the Post-Wano content would be better(on the contrary, i would be surprised if not), but what i've heard or seen of it didn't really impress me enough to continue tbh.
