Yeah, this episode brings a lot of contexts to what brought the Midnight Sun group to this point and more presently what became of the elves from Patra's perspective. It does make sense for Patra to blame the blonde friendly human since he would have been one of the only humans who knew of this ceremony. It also brought on the twist that Patra was the one resurrected in Licht's body which is why the current Licht is so crazed with hatred which is the polar opposite of the real Licht from last we saw him. Patra was already very iffy about humans but was beginning to trust them when they trapped and butchered them when they were at their happiest. This is what produced Patra's current mindset which has led to his own genocidal views on humans. Morally bad? Yes, but Patra is clearly mad with hatred, so I doubt he's thinking much on what's morally right for humans with what happened to his race. Not something I condone but I can see why Patra became this way.

For people like Patra, Vetto, Fana, etc. what was hundreds of years was mere moments ago for them. They died and their souls leaped forward in time. So it does at least make their deep rooted hatred a little easier to understand even though, as you said, it's hit a point of crazed irrationality.
