I do find Lichtmuhnutz to be hypocritical when he called out Valdos, Sally, and Radez. Yes they were selfish and motivated only by personal gain, but uhhh buddy boy, so were you. I can somewhat get going after the nobility and royalty since most of them are arrogant, selfish, and care nothing for commoners, but where do the common people fall into the pit of blame? On top of that he's had ample examples of people who are contrarian to his personal ideals; Asta, Yuno, Julius, Yami, Mimosa, Noelle, The Underwater Temple peeps, Klaus, The Vermillions(Minus Kirsche, even though he's not exactly as bad as say Langris or King Clover), and Noelle's mother, Acier. What did they do? Why should they suffer? Licht's problem is that he is mad at a bunch of people that died hundreds of years ago. No human alive right now, good or evil, had anything to do with what happened to his people. And by calling for genocide, he's just acting as vile as the people he hates. He is becoming exactly what he despises. He's a great antagonist, but I'm just sitting here thinking "Does this fool know what a mirror is? If so, he should look at one"

Julius' final words are done so well. I love how his speech switches between his and Asta's voice, showing that they share the same ideals as one another. And once he's done reflecting on his performance of being the Wizard King, he goes right back to his ordinary self, just being happy that he got to experience so much magic in his lifetime. Oftentimes rulers in anime are very arrogant and generally unlikeable, like the actual king, but Julius was a ruler that was competent and seemed to be a genuinely good guy. Made his death much more impactful.

And it begins. Get ready Curtis, you about to be on the edge of your seat nonstop going forward. Licht is an example of the most extreme hatred. Based on everything given, he despises humans because they committed a genocide on the Elven race. Which fair, I would be quite pissed and distrustful of humans if they did that to my entire race as well. Problem though. He's retaliating by committing a genocide on humans who have fuck all to do with the people who wiped out his race. Literally "Sins of the Father" times a thousand here. And he has the nerve to call humans vile, selfish and discrimatory when this entire plan revolves around him being the exact same. An utter lack of self awareness caused by hatred of another species. It would be different if he only targeted Royals. Still needs to be stopped, but it would be a little more palpable compared to literally eradicating the humans whose ancestors had nothing to do with the death of your race. It's not targeted purely on those who committed the crime. It's targeted purely on the fact that they are human and humans bad. Conclusion, Licht and all these Elves need to look in the mirror. I agree that the humans who did this to you are flat out scum of the earth and deserve anything that happened to them. But they are long dead. And instead of just fucking off or just trying to revive your specific friends, you in turn take your hatred out on people who have fuck all to do with the people who wiped out your race.

You guys do such a good job of describing this! Exactly how I feel about Licht and his minions!

It would seem that losing the elves has turned Licht into a truly spiteful man. The midnight Sun leader persona he has been using so far seems to have just been a mask he used to garner support from his human allies. It hid his unforgiving malice which he showed on full display when beating Julius, escaping with his special magic user and now condemning his human minions. His zealous views become more understandable when you get the full context of what happened and why they have specifically targeted the Clover Kingdom but until then we're just gonna have to wait and see what's with thi s magic stone spell.
