SAO is definitely an anime with a lot of flaws, however it being my first anime i do have a soft spot for it. it will definitely be very interesting to see your reactions after watching the abridged!

SAO was the series that introduced a lot of new people to anime since it appealed to the MMO (massive multiplayer online) crowd when that genre was really popular. The biggest issue I had with the series is that no one in the game acts like how actual video game players would act, it is more of a fantasy world that has a video game aesthetic. That said, I do understand why a lot of people still love the series. Speaking of which, SAO abridged is doing the 2nd season of the series and it's still great.
