Really an incredible season. I mentioned before about how Gintama tells stories for adults, but this really shows it. Plenty of anime show the wonder of youth, but it's rare that you get an anime that shows the beauty and honor that can be found in old age. Showing that, even in old age, Gin and Zura are still honorable men that put their everything into doing the right thing, and are still incredibly reliable for it. And showing through Otohime that beauty doesn't fade with age, so long as you are a kind and gentle person.

Honestly I think this is one of the weaker arcs. I mean I love the ending, but I feel that the middle leading up to it didn't really earn that ending. Plus the villain is probably one of the weaker ones that Sorachi has written. At least in terms of motivation. It's a good thing the jokes were so good, otherwise I think this arc would've been a lot worse.
