This arc reminds me what I liked about the original dragon ball. No transformations no gods no space. Just people fighting training and getting stronger the old-fashioned way. Obviously we can’t shoot energy blast but besides for that everything is still pretty realistic

If Goku was in ssj Devilmite beam probably would've taken him out

The anime adds a lot of padding to the fight against Devilman. In the manga Goku kicked him through the wall/ceiling immediately after the devilmite beam.
