The animation gets ramped up immensely for this arc. Toei threw all the money at this show; kind of like how HBO gave whatever the showrunners wanted for Game of Thrones. When Orochi gloated over Hyogoro's wife being killed I recall angrily yelling at my screen "Yes we get it, Orochi is a piece of shit, stop killing wholesome people dammit!" I think Oda had fun making this parasite. That is what Orochi is; a sub-human, worthless, cowardly, piece of shit parasite. But yeah it's 10 vs 10,000 plus Kaido. Oden and his crew have their work cut out for them; no pun intended.

I think you accidently skipped the start of this episode which shows the battle between Kaido and Moria which was referenced way back in Thriller Bark.

Disrespect Roger and Whitebeard? He praised them. Strong, but naive in a way. Nothing wrong about that. Kaido seems to be the type of person who believes kindness and naivety to be the same. I wonder what made him that way...
