I understand Mary wanting to avenge her dad and all, but I have no reason to believe she wouldn't just end up meeting his same fate!

There is a Tanya movie that is the next arc in this series, also with I assume a bigger budget as the quality is great, with an amazing showdown action scene in it. Highly recommend watching it even if you don't do a reaction. Season 2 has also been announced for some time next year. Oh, and Mary's full name is Mary Sue, if you aren't aware of the Mary Sue trope in writing I suggest looking it up, gives some foreshadowing for the future.

I wasn't aware of that, so I did look it up... Wow, that makes me much more concerned about her!! 😲

Ok so the movie is canon, it's volume 3 of the light novels if I remember right, all of season 1 is basically leading up to it, so definitely see it even if you can't do a reaction, though I'd suggest maybe trying a timer video even if those aren't the most popular, I mean it's free on crunchyroll so it's easy to sync

maybe do the movie in like parts

Like everyone else already mentioned, watch the movie, it's worth it.

Yeah, I was skimming through some tropes from tropes on TV tropes and came cross the person at the ends name... Mary Sue... we can't escape can we.

Tanya actually has some pretty good insights into human nature in this episode, I mean she's right, humans do start wars an awful lot for "peace", rightly or wrongly we're pretty hypocritical in our actions, we're not fully rational, but honestly, would you want us to be? it's our irrational side, our emotional side that lets us show people mercy, care for others, and love each other even when we know rationally we may not get anything from it. It makes us do terrible things, it makes us to wonderful things, it's just being human. Oh, speaking of hypocrisy, remember the irony thing I talked about a while back? The Entente Alliance, which is were Mary was originally from before immigrating to the Unified States, is the one responsible for this whole war, she's crying about how the big "Evil Empire" is responsible for all this and her fathers death, but the truth of the matter is she's from the country responsible for the war and chaos that's happening, and she's too blind and angry to realize it, in the light novels her father before he died did realize that it was his government and even himself who was responsible for the war, since they're the ones who marched into the Empire's territory as a show off force though.

Also on a side note this Being X guy is horrible. Not only did they orchestrate the events of this war leading to Sue fighting and being killed by Tanya he is now manipulating his daughter into entering that very same war. That is something that Sue very much would not want for his daughter especially considering she will be leaving her mother behind.

Best part about that ending speech is that at first we're lead to believe that Tanya has given up. And surrendered in her feud with Being X, willingly praying to him. Instead she does the greatest prayer that borders on Blasphemy since Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan the Barbarian. I saw this before there was even a possibility of a movie or a second season. Didn't even know that the Light Novels went past this. As to the movie, definitely watch it you're missing out otherwise. It's based on the 4th Book in the Light Novels (the first three were covered this season) and it is amazing. I have eight of the light Novels, of which I've read four (I've been busy) and things just keep getting crazier and crazier.

Now Mr. Godammit Curtis has seen the true reason as to why we wanted him to see the Pure and Good Willed being, that is, Tanya Von Degurechaff. If I remember correctly, a lot of people stated that this single Season is what brought Anime back to life. A lot of Anime fell into a bunch of lack lustre stereotypes with predictable plots and basic par Animation, Tanya brought it back with her great expressions, feats and great “camera work”. A great show.

This kinda makes me want to rewatch the whole series but with the English dub.
