I was already excited for Gintama, but now, having met characters and seen the relationships, I'm REALLY amped!

Again this is the only show I highly vouch for watching all the episodes including filler; it’s just that good Also I am feeling confident Kagura (the red hair girl) will eventually join Buu, Luffy, & Killua on your all time favorite characters list

Yea, I immediately took a liking to her. Between the attitude and the appetite, she's my kinda character!

@THE GOOSH! Yeah that’s exactly why she’s right in your wheelhouse; Also a badass fighter she has some of the best fights in the series.

Gintama the goat series

The setting of the show is loosely based on the end of the 200 year isolation of Japan in our world and the era that followed directly after it. Only instead of 19th Century European Technology, and Foreigners we're dealing with Aliens and technology that ranges anywhere from the late 90s to the Space Age. There's also a number of characters based on historical figures in this. For example Shinpachi takes his name from one of the few members of the Shinsengumi that managed to survive into the Meiji Era. The Shinsengumi (the fellows who introduced themselves while busting in) were an elite unit of Samurai that were loyal to the Shogun. The trio you saw are based on significant figures within the Shinsengumi. And Zura (It's not Zura it's Katsura), is based on a rebel from the same time period. The combination of all this leads to some pretty great comedy.
