I've always been curious about how Sypha is so strong. Before she joined the team she was just a normal speaker magician (kinda like a modern day missionary/historian) with I assume not much in the way of combat training, and now she's wrecking demons and centries old vampires by the dozens. The only enemy to really overpower her significantly was Dracula. Belmont at least came from a family who were the premier monster hunters of the world, and inherited their training and weapons. How the heck did Sypha end up so fricken powerful without some grand lineage or training? Is she uniquely talented or gifted in some way? or are all magicians like her and all the rest are just a bunch of lazy bums or cowards?

Good questions... I'm thinking the uniquely talented avenue is the most likely... And it's a good thing for Belmont that she has that uniqueness!

When you go back through the season, it's amazing how well Varney's identity was foreshadowed without revealing the twist. You (and everyone in the series as well) spend the whole season convinced Varney is some huxter playing out of his league, when in reality he was the ultimate manipulator. Fun fact, in the game (or at least the original I think), Death was a boss and the hardest in the game. Also the animation in this series but especially this episode put most anime to shame.

Interesting fact that Varney is named after a fictional Vampire that is actually older than Bram Stoker's Dracula. Hence why they decided to make him a more powerful being than Dracula. In this case making him death itself.

Yeah, I was totally bamboozled. I thought Varney was one of those "tough guys" who bully those who are weaker than them, but when someone actually fights back, they run away.
