The Abyssal Drink

What's so fun about this show is that it's all about human emotion and those emotions are wild. Making a mistake in life doesn't mean the world but an arbiter does a major disservice if they get it wrong. Also the bar is Quindecim, pronounced kinda like Queen deck him if you say the i in him more like an e. I'm not good with phonetics so that's the best way I could put it since you don't understand japanese pronunciation otherwise it'd be super simple.

I LOVED that swerve!! The wife actually being the good one in the relationship is something I never would have guessed!! 😊

In the end the Husband most likely should've been the one sent into the void. Whereas the wife probably should've been reincarnated. It was stated in this episode that they explain the two as Heaven and Hell as a sort of shorthand. Meaning that Reincarnation is positive, while the Void is negative. Earlier we see some Buddhist imagery in the architecture outside the elevator. Which is interesting as in Buddhism reincarnation is seen as a sort of prison. The whole point of life is to live in search of enlightenment in order to escape the cycle of reincarnation. At which point you're supposed to become one with the cosmos. In other words, returning to non-existence. It's interesting that they portray the Void as a negative, in Death Parade, since clearly there's some inspiration from Buddhism, where the void might actually be considered a positive.

Wow, that’s a really interesting element of Buddhism; I didn’t have any idea about that.
