Okay, I do feel some empathy for Tsukasa now... But his truce still strikes me as tenuous.

My only real minor complaint about this season is I do wish they had made Tsukasa a bit smarter and proactive. But he was given the Marvel Thanos treatment, and basically sat around the whole time and gave the heroes plenty of time to put their plans into motion. He's not dumb, he was able to read Senku's moves in season 1, even figuring out he would be making gunpowder based off just a few hints and was able to predict where he would go to complete it. He felt to passive this season.

Some guy named Chris

Well, Tsukasa did tell Senku a story way back in the beginning of season 1 to justify his destruction of a particular statue. About a little girl who loved the little mermaid and her big brother who got his ass beat because he was looking for shells for her and was found by the drunk guy who owned fishing rights there. Now it seems their parents are useless too, drinking away instead of doing everything they could to keep their daughter alive. So yeah, I kinda get his issue with authority figures, still he went about it all wrong, and never seemed to figure out he’d never stop developing technology. Even if he did all he could for all his life, once he’s gone, free game.

Yep, Tsukasa has a few layers. He is clearly an onion. Or given his strength perhaps an ogre. In the words of Zangief from Wreck-it Ralph, "Just because your are badguy, doesn't mean you are bad guy."
