You know old Dinger there reminds me of Travis Bickle (Robert Deniro) in Taxi Driver. If he had decided to become a serial killer, rather than a vigilante. The Vampire guy is also clearly inspired by Peter Kurten "The Vampire of Dusseldorf" one of Germany's earliest serial killers. Who was active from 1913-1929, until he was finally captured in 1930 and executed in 1931. Though our Vampire was clearly more successful with his 13 victims to Kurten's 9 and 31 attempted victims. Also he seems more dedicated to the vampire bit, since Kurten didn't drink blood from all of his victims.
