With how great a character Kenichi is (and Miu, as well) these training sequences could become some of my favorites!

Yeah i too have always thought the masters would be right at home as street fighter characters lol, and yeah i adore all the masters especially the death god of muay thai apachai hopachai.

I really like how Kenichi’s master’s hold off on teaching him techniques until they know he’s ready and that he’s not going to abuse what they teach him This show really cares about martial arts and it’s principal rule of only being used for self defence. The bully’s all think martial arts is about the strong and abuse what they learn, but Kenichi truly follows the rule of, only using what he learns for self defence, and never goes looking for a fight

Having been the first martial art I was ever exposed to, I really love Muay Thai! That's one of the big things I'm already enjoying about this show is the depictions of various fighting styles and techniques! 😊

Kenichi's a fun character because he's such an overly dramatic coward, and he's put in situations where he has no choice but to face his fears and overcome them.

Kenichi is over dramatic, but he's very relatable. The underdog story of a boy who's sick and tired of being called a coward. There's no Nen Techniques, no Kamehamehas, no Devil Fruit, just a regular ass dude learning some regular ass martial arts. That's why this is my favorite anime of all time. It has all the elements of character and story telling that I love from shows like Hunter X Hunter, but the story itself, the "power system," the characters, they're all much more down to earth and relatable. It's much easier to relate to "boy getting bullied at school" than it is "boy fighting for the sake of the world against ants that ate humans and are now human sized bugs with human intelligence and super powers."

Not that I have anything against Hunter X Hunter, it is my SECOND favorite anime of all time after all, and I can openly admit that speaking objectively it is vastly superior in every way to Kenichi, but I just...I can't help it, I just like Kenichi more anyway.
