I always saw Kanon as sort of the Clannad-lite, slightly less laughs and crippling depression. but only slightly heh.

I'm excited about this one. It feels like I'm part of the minority that prefers Kanon over Clannad. I'm not saying it's the better anime, it just had more impact on me personally. Actually, if I ever end up making YouTube videos, I was thinking about doing a comparison of the 2002 and 2006 versions of Kanon. It's a really short time to have two different adaptations and the differences in quality is staggering.
