I REALLY liked seeing Ippo come up with this legendary fighting tactic! Roll into the power!

The finisher is here. The jet has landed

WHOLESOME DEUS

Finally the jet engines have started 🙌

I feel like the characters in the anime are often drawn too bulky in comparison to the manga. Ippo is still a featherweight, people in that weight class should be more wiry, with incredible muscle definition but not a lot of mass (duh).

Yea, I have noticed that the physiques are a bit mystical. I understand it makes them look badass, and I enjoy it within the story, but with how heavy muscle is, if these guys are featherweights, they should be about 3 feet, 6 inches tall. :-D

Every time you mentioned head movement earlier in the series I was thinking of this.

The Gimpster 101

Time to prepare yourself for the rematch of the hypothetical Prime Iron Mike Tyson vs Prime Big George Foreman. This is gunna be one for the books.

Possibly one of the best boxing fights you’ll ever see, let them fucking engines ROAR!

People always think of Tyson as a brawler and of his power, but he had really underrated skills and defense, especially the head movement and slipping punches very much like this. When those went away and he just became a stalking brawler he really lost a lot of what made him so devastating and intimidating in the first place, ironically.

This episode still gave me chills, even though I’ve seen and read this section dozens of times.

The Gimpster 101

Another reason as to why people who know them have a really difficult time deciding who would win, Prime Mike Tyson or Prime Ali. Tyson’s head movement and bombs in the shape of fists vs lightning fast boxing and tricky angles. Would the underrated head movement create an opening or would the (somewhat) underrated toughness last long enough for an opening to emerge?

you know the portrayal of the Dempsey Roll in hajime no ippo has got to be the most exaggerated rendition of the move but man it does such a good job in conveying what it feels like to get overpowered by sheer bombing runs
