In the Manga things played out rather differently. Miyabi got rather close with the previous homeroom teacher, pretty much to the same point that Urumi was at with her teacher when she was younger. Only in Miyabi's case she fell in love with said homeroom teacher. Until she found he had a fiancee, at which point Miyabi wrote on the chalkboard accusing that teacher of molesting her. The thing was a mess, the Teacher was forced to resign (though no charges were ever pressed) and another student was expelled. The expelled student had a crush on Miyabi and punched out the Teacher over the molestation accusation. The whole thing was a huge mess, honestly the way it's handled here is better. The Manga version is very dependent on Miyabi just being a brat. Whereas this gives something resembling a good motivation, however thin that may be.
