It's really sad that they only adapted part of the manga into anime and they did it while manga was still coming out (manga 1996-2002, anime 1999-2000) and there probably won't be new adaptation ever.

Well Yoshikawa's got one thing going for him. Even if he gets knocked out defending her, his girlfriend can take care of herself. Also Sea Turtle meat is apparently very tasty. It was considered something of a shipboard delicacy during the Age of Sail. Unfortunately due to the fact that most Sea Turtle species are now endangered, you're never likely to have any.

It did get a live action series a few years back. Also the sequel manga that started in 2014 is still ongoing so it might get an adaptation one day.
