For all the talk of ippo’s fights never being “easy” (he’s always has a lesson to learn at least), 3 of his 8 wins are by 1st round KO (against the headbitter, against Hayami, and here against #5).

I enjoy seeing him learn his lessons... My point was, if you look at the history of the legendary sluggers (Tyson, Duran and the like) many of their early opponents were completely overwhelmed and obliterated. Ippo, however, has had to have ultimate focus and determination every step of the way... That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as it probably accelerates his learning.

My first time watching this I was expecting to dislike Okita, but he's surprisingly cool. Shows Ippo respect, and takes the loss with dignity.

This dude copied Date style, saw him beat Ippo and then challenged ippo to make a statement. He then proceeded to get his ass knocked out and lost his 5th placement for some petty reason 🤣.
