I wouldn't say that Kikuchi is the equal in intellect to Urumi. Again she's got a 200 IQ, but clearly he's closer than any of the other students in their class. I think that alone is why she has something that resembles respect for him.

The thing to remember about her is that she is testing him because nobody really gives her any consequences and she isnt really sure anyone cares as a consequence. She is a genius among geniuses so she can get away with anything. She is bored by everything, so she tries to do shit that makes her day less boring. The fact that she doesnt even get reprimanded makes it hard to believe that anyone cares about her. So she keeps testing Onizuka until he either fails or proves to her that he cares.
