UGH! I hate this style of fighting! This guy is a decent enough dude, but I want Ippo to knock his ass out!

One the one hand, it’s not exciting to watch and a pain in the ass to fight. On the other hand, I can’t fault a dude too much for knowing himself and his shortcomings and doing the most he can with what he’s got. At the end of the day, the name of the game is to win.

Agreed... But, as you mentioned, it's such an annoying strategy, that I immediately find myself rooting for fighters like that to get knocked out. :-D

Max Everitt Rosenbloom (November 1, 1907[1] – March 6, 1976) was an American professional boxer, actor, and television personality. Nicknamed “Slapsie Maxie”, he was inducted into The Ring's Boxing Hall of Fame in 1972,[2] the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1984,[3] the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 1985,[4] and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1993 Legendary trainer Cus D'Amato later recalled that watching Rosenbloom's ring performances inspired him for a quest to create a perfect fighter, and to develop a unique boxing technique, later known as the peek-a-boo style. The peek a boo style witch Ippo now uses, so its coming full circle, the creator of this really does his research, and still is hehe.

Knock his ass out Ippo please

Honestly, I think it's good they are showing Ippo fighting a variety of oponents and strategies. As non-traditional and annoying as it is, this dude is using a valid strategy... and it's up to Ippo to figure out what to do about it. This would be a pretty embarrassing loss, though, wouldn't it?

Well it seems like he is allready struggeling and the rounds are fading away real quick

It's hard not to feel irritated with Kobayashi's boxing style. Especially when he's clinching till the end of the round while the referee tries to separate them

WHOLESOME DEUS

Rosenbloom "slapie Maxie" was a real person. He was a light weight in the early 1900's. 223 wins with 19 KO.

I think its safe to say, Curtis prefers Robin's Clutch over Kobayashi's Clinch! 😃
