King calling out Meliodas is pretty intense! I understand the shared heritage Meliodas has with the 10 Commandments, but wow!

Bans backstory is very one piece like haha very sad though

Noah

I gotta say for the 1st half of the episode, bans backstory is amazing. I absolutely love it, and how I felt for the 2nd half when king confronted Meliodas if I had to put in real world terms would be, let's say someone walked up to a random German guy and said something like are you sure your not a nazi? It's like just because there the same race doesn't mean that they all have to be bad/evil. its like grouping them all together and I don't think thats fair at all. Tho I will say it is a bit suspicious on meliodas part since he does seem to know more about what's going on than he's letting on.

I knew that Zhivago and Ban’s backstories would really get to you. It was a great story to explain how Ban came to be. It also shows how much of an influence Zhivago had. All of Ban’s abilities are centered around stealing because that was the main thing his father figure taught him.

Christopher Johnson

It is an interesting thing, but the analogy doesn’t really work. Neither us nor King has any notion that a demon could be good. We know that people can be good so it would be silly to assume someone was a nazi.

Noah

Yea true. I did think it was extreme but it was the only thing that really came to my mind that I though might put up a comparison.

Now we see the reason why Ban is the fox sin of greed, because is father figure was a werefox. Diane was the serpent sin of envy because she was accused of poisoning Matronna (so poison = snake). I don't know for sure why King is the grizzly but my guess is because the Guardian form of Chastiefol is a bear and also he stayed in a cave with Diane for a long time, ignoring his duties, kind of like an hibernating bear.

This is one of the few gripes I have with the series actually, the author seems to just hurl things onto characters even though it doesn't really make sense. No one knew Ban's father figure was a werefox, not even Ban himself, so where did the name "fox sin" come from? It's like how the sins act surprised when other sins use their powers for the first time on screen, but they literally fought with each other daily for years before the series start so they should be painfully familiar with all of their powers. I love the series as a whole, but the author definitely just throws things in to be cool even if it's an obvious plot hole, lol.

Ban&Zhivago's backstory truly is touching.

I was a bit confused for a second. The mega file is called, King calling out Ban, so I thought I'd opened one of the S1 episodes at first.

I wouldn't be so sure that Ban didn't know. He didn't show any sign of surprise that Zhivago is a werefox in this episode. Whether that's because he'd told Ban at some point in the flashback that we didn't see, or because Ban just figured it out is up for debate, I mean, Zhivago was standing on that wall before running off, so maybe Ban could see him transform and run off? Either way, I'm willing to believe Ban is smart enough to figure it out, and sicne Ban never hated him, that could've been his way of paying homage to his father. Or, slightly more likely, it was down to stereotypes. The Fox is the stereotypical trickster thief, the Dragon is, particularly in a great Britain-ish setting, the generic malevolent wrathful force, the hibernating bear for sloth, all consuming pig for gluttony, prideful lion, horny (Puns ftw) goat, and the snake being a traditional sign of envy.

King is on point though! That's why he's my favourite pointy midget.
