Clearly, the most intense threat Satan has ever faced comes from Sentucky Fried Chicken and their dorky, blue-haired manager!

I love how even Emilia casually refers to the bachelor pad as the Devil’s Castle. I wish my roommates and I had a cool name for our apartment...

Man this episode was adorable, between chiho's expressions at the beginning, and suzuno's interactions with the modern world (especially her doing circles around the tv). Also, I had waiting for you to mention that the manager for MgRonalds is actually pretty cute, she reminds me of smith from monster musume.

V_VMat

Why tf does that manager guy look like James from Pokemon? 🤣

Alciel: I'm about to get all up in this fucker's grill! If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen! Why did the Chicken cross the road? To kick your ass! Which came first? The Chicken or the ass-kicking you're about to have?! I'm about to cock all up in your hen house!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Chiho is a refreshingly straightforward character, of a type that's almost never seen in anime. She gets embarrassed sometimes, and trips herself up, but overall, she's nothing less that bluntly honest about her feelings, both to herself and others. She doesn't try to deny her feelings to anyone, and doesn't try to deny them to herself. She even concedes that it may not be the best idea to fall for the Devil King, but simply states that she can't help the way she feels. It's depressingly rare to find a character like that in anime. I personally think that Emi and Sadao would work better together in the long run(once Emilia is able to come to terms with things), since they have more in common with each other, but I wouldn't be disappointed in a Chiho/Sadao pairing at all. Heck, I love that even the tsundere's extremely back-and-forth tendencies are justified in this show. Tsunderes get added to anime as a standard stock trope simply to check a box, but again, considering the backstory and history between Emi and Satan(not to mention her personal backstory), it's absolutely understandable why she is the way she is with him. This is the Devil King! The guy whose armies gleefully laid waste to the lands of the humans, without regard at all to the suffering they went through. It was his armies that destroyed her home village and killed her father. And yet, he comes to this new world, and suddenly, he has empathy? He's kind and supportive of humans? Of course she's out of sorts about him! Even worse is her own sense of honor. She'd like nothing more than to just end the biggest threat to her world once and for all, and take justice and revenge in the name of all that's fallen before him. But that's not who she's come face-to-face with. Her target is someone who is genuinely kind and helpful to others, who has never hesitated to help HER, even as he snarks at her for it. Someone who has literally given up his chance to go home and finish his conquest multiple times simply to help save the people of this world. How can 'The Hero' bring herself to stab someone like that in the back? Heck, even early on, her seemingly contradictory actions make sense for her character. Why would she declare that she's going to do everything she can to kill him, and then show up at his home almost crying, and ask to stay the night? Because she's all alone. Satan and Emi were both thrown into a completely alien world where they didn't even speak the language, with almost no power, and they've had to struggle just to find a small place to live. However, Satan at least had Alciel with him. Emi was completely by herself, alone. And then when she finds him, she finds him in the same position that she's in. Even though he's her mortal enemy, he and Alciel are literally the only ones in the entire world that can understand what she's going through, and sympathize. So she takes a chance, and goes over there. And even though they gave her shit for it, they still let her stay. Even though she's their enemy, and declared herself as such, they still took her in, and let her find some oddly sympathetic comfort for a night. Even though it's with her enemy, for one night, she doesn't have to be alone. They'd have had every right to just laugh in her face and tell her to fuck off, and they didn't. They let her find some solace. So yeah, her mind's definitely fucked at the moment.

Oh, and another pun name. Crestia Bel = Suzuno. "Suzu" is a type of bell.
