Really is sad seeing Ichigo so forlorn about losing his powers, I mean he may have wanted to just be normal at one point, but after the Arrancar arc he became a warrior, someone who loves to fight, and now he can't, he's never not had the ability to protect others so it's devastating for him.

I sometimes wonder how much of Orihime's airheadedness is an act. We've seen that she can be extremely insightful when she wants to be and she's tougher than some give her credit for.

Act🤔 She actively tried to be cheerful based on what she told Sora but I wouldnt say she's acting. Maybe she's putting herself in that state of mind or maybe she's toned that down since after her closure with her older brother. But isn't she just naturally airheaded WHEN IN a comfortable enviroment where its fine to be? Being insightful and serious when it's called for doesnt mean you can't be airheaded when it really isn't. *ps she was an airhead in Soul Society too, so if it's for her friends that might not make much sense if she keeps doing it when theyre not around. She might still be doing it for her dead brother but I dont think it would be at the same level anymore now and I honestly think she's just naturally quirky and somewhat of an airhead. She was serious in Hueco Mundo but wasn't that because of the situation? Otherwise, you can interpret it as her still being cheerful for her brother or her naturally making herself cheerful back then sticking with her even after he moved on. Actively trying to be cheerful for that might feel a bit wrong though since he didnt want that ~ But it could definitely be that that way of thinking or acting stuck and she's still naturally acting like that even if there isn't really a reason anymore.

Orihime has always been kind of an airhead we just haven’t seen it in awhile since she was more in a depressive state throughout the arrancar arc on account of the whole being held hostage thing.
