As much as I hate Arlong. At least he didn’t discriminate against fellow fishmen that didn’t view humans the same way he did like Jimbei. He didn’t hate them, he just thought they were wrong. Celestial Dragons don’t just hate fishmen but literally any other life on the planet that isn’t a celestial and think they are gods just because they are descendants of people who founded the World Government. Arlong is a lot of things but at least he never had a god complex.

I think we all felt like this was a terrible Idea at the time. It's honestly amazing that it paid off to a degree. Oda faked us out.

Agreed. He used the fact that we knew she died, and tricked us into thinking it was a mistake to trust the Celestial Dragons. Because people don't know the future when making decisions like that. It was the best way to put us in the shoes of the citizens, and how uneasy THEY felt about seeing her go.

I dunno. There's something about Vander Decken that I just find entertaining. I think it's because he doesn't have some great, hidden ideology. He just wants power, wealth, and fame. I think I like him because he acts like a TRUE pirate.

I think, as individuals, Hordy is clearly a bigger scumbag than Arlong. However, just due to my own personal way of receiving things, it would be difficult for anyone short of Shou Tucker to be more hated than the douchebag, Arlong! :-)

Yeah Vander Decken thinks he could take on Jinbei. I think it would end in the same results that Arlong ended up with I SUSPECT! lol

Celestial Dragons are thousands times worse than Arlong. (Granted CDs as a group is bigger number than Arlong=1) Interesting choice of a cliffhanger. Makes you really think that Otohime never made back (is killed/made a slave) It wasn't so in the manga.
