Jewelry Bonney is actually kind of mysterious. Anything we know of her is just remarks by various characters and what we've seen. She was genuinely upset and cried about Whitebeard's death for some reason, and sought out Blackbeard for revenge (apparently). And what connection does she have to the World Government for Akainu to say she "escaped" from them? That's actually one of the strengths of One Piece, in my opinion. There is a lot of small stuff that may or may not be relevant to the overall story, with a bunch of characters having their own secrets. And often it turns out that they are important to some degree, but we only get to find out hundreds of chapters/episodes later. It's really cool for those who like to pay attention to small details. :) I mean, Sabo (and his death) was kind of teased back in Arabasta with Ace's tattoo (the crossed-out S). And in the manga, the shadow of a third sake cup could be seen in the flashback of Ace and Luffy's oath of brotherhood in Marineford. That's also where the name was dropped first in Ace's dying speech. So people theorized about a third brother for some time before Sabo was actually introduced xD

I alway thought Ace's tattoo was just done buy somebody who didn't know how to spell but it does fit. Dam Oda is a mad man when it come to hiding stuff in the story lol

Actually rewatching with Curtis again revealed a lot of foreshadowing that I couldn't even remember. Like a lot of scenes in this episode.

Curtis 2 things to take a note of in this episode is one the name kiado the other is chopper saying he wants to be a monster for luffy

I wonder if Curtis would be opposed to watching a One Piece summary video. I remember one from a few years ago that was pretty damn good. Only thing is, it has some spoilers from the next arc at the end. It hits most of the big moments in 30 minutes which is pretty damn impressive, tbh. Not asking for a reaction, just to help refresh your memory of the earlier episodes.

"If it helps him, I'll become a real monster!" That quote is a tear jerker every time. Chopper who despised being called a monster is willing to become one just for the sake of his friend and captain. Gets me every time.
