Cabbie Hat has those same abilities as Ichigo?!... Yea, that's gonna be a problem!

I'm extremely excited to see your reaction tomorrow Curtis It's gonna be amazing.

The new characters are Mod Souls, just like Kon.

If you remember, Quincy's dad is a Quincy second and a doctor first. This is at best his side-gig and what he is fighting was described as insanely powerful last time we saw a being of its class.

Afro Reaper may have an afro, but unfortunately he hasn't mastered its power yet. Not to mention he forgot the crucial boxing gloves. Luffy could show him a thing or two about using an afro to its maximum potential.

little trivia, in the manga a version of the scene at the beginning with Grand Fisher changing forms actually takes place after he loses to Ichigo, near 90 episodes ago. for some reason the anime removed the teaser. the original version was him having an unknown hollow break his mask off and his form changes.

Shinji definitely has the most unexpected backstory of any other Bleach character in my opinion Also I was waiting till this episode to mention this because I wanted to see if you would notice this on your own or if you already knew. But this is the first canon episode with Chad’s new voice actor. Jamieson Price took over as the voice of Chad starting with episode 80 and voiced him for the remainder of the series This is first of three voice actor changes for significant characters in Bleach. The other two changes happen towards the end of the series and are Kisuke Urahara and Kenny. As you may know from your Naruto reactions Michael Lindsay who voices Kisuke and Kankuro had to retire from voice acting due to health issues and sadly passed away last year. Finally David Lodge who voices Kenny and Jiraya walked away from anime voice acting specifically in 2012. This was due to anime voice acting paying very little and Viz not wanting to increase his pay. Lodge finished out his time as Jiraya since he had nearly finished recording all of Jiraya’s lines however, unlike Naruto Bleach was a non-union production. This meant that there were no guaranteed hours for VAs and so the pay was practically nothing. Compare this to commercials and video games which can pay huge amounts of money and are almost always union productions it’s easy to see why he left that part of the industry

That’s all really interesting... I like these insights into the industry. 😊

Gonna be honest, I could have sworn this arc was MUCH later in the series.

I don’t know if you know this Curtis, but a lot of the basic plot for and characters for manga is decided in advance. Shinji had already been thought up by chapter 1. In Volume 1 of the Japanese version, there’s an early design of Shinji.
