It’s incredible how low the quality for this story was when it was first coming out and slowly it was just climbing up to the S+ rank story telling of One Piece and Berserk. I’m sure you don’t know this but the author early on wanted to just kill everyone early at the end of a season 2 and move on but decided to continue developing the story due to popularity and had another draft but changed the story again to improve it. People early on like me thought it was just going to be the Walking dead ( which I like comic wise) where there was no other meat to the story other than who will live and die but it turned out to have much more than that, almost everyone in the anime community were kinda making fun of it or thought it was ok at best( I thought it was interesting but forgot about it and now caught up now manga wise). Isayama really is a talented writer.

Yeahhh the season four coming up is going to blow your mind. When I started to pick up the manga I was surprised by the crazy turns that happens and how everything is explored. No stone is left unturned story wise. Amazing quality with such polarizing charecters. The various factions in the manga have real life paralells with various people rooting for each one. I was surprised at the quality of the manga. But then a few months ago chapter 121 released and IT BLEW MY FUCKING MIND. EVIDENCE HAS BEEN PLANTED DAY ONE ON THE INNER WORKINGS OF THIS PIECE. THERE WAS NEVER A DROP IN QUALITY IT WAS JUST ISYAMA'S PLAN. Similar to Gigguk I am not animated when watching or reading things. But when I read that MF chapter I was freaking the fuck out. And after looking into some of the various hints and such previous in the series my jaw literally dropped and I was staring at at wall. I am similar to you that I don't think I have a favorite anime. But you know, if anything comes close it's Attack on Titan.

As somebody up to date on the manga, I have to say I've enjoyed everything that is yet to be animated more than anything that came before it. In my opinion it reaches new heights. Anybody who is debating reading it should wait though, the anime so masterfully adds to the source material with it's presentation and music that it makes me enjoy watching scenes that I didn't enjoy reading.
