Glad you like Wolfwood! The show is about to take a huge turn into figuring out who Vash REALLY is!

Fun Fact the creator of the series used to be a Buddhist but after studying christianity he converted but also still carrying some buddhist principles. He shows this in his work by involving his religion and the aspects he finds good. Its actually hard for someone to choose to be religious in Japan especially christian. Most Japanese who practice any shinto or buddhist ceremonies do it for tradition not really believe. And since like we saw in Samurai Champloo which used real history early Japanese Christians were villainized and exterminated because the Emperor at the time thought things like Jesus and God would make people believe he wasn't as Godly of a ruler. To this day Japanese people have a prejudice against christians even of their own nationality so its not a easy choice to convert and you would likely really have faith to do so.

This was actually the first episode I saw of Trigun, back when it was first airing. Needless to say, it gave me a VERY wrong impression of what the story was about; based on this episode alone, it's about a lone wandering priest (?) named Wolfwood who's gruff but has a heart of gold. There's a girl he knows somehow named Milly, and he's also somehow acquainted with an outlaw named Vash, who's a cold and dangerous man (and has another girl following him for some reason) but is apparently actually nice and puts on the mask of a hardened gunman. Needless to say, the next episode I saw (with the REAL Vash) was a bit of a mood whiplash! Though it's kind of funny how many details were close but inverted. Anyways, just an amuzing story I like telling people who've seen Trigun. Nice reaction, can't wait for more!
