Yo, Curtis. When you watch the final episode (59, I believe), please watch the end credits as well. I don't mean skip the ED and go to the scene after it, but watch the actual credits. It's hella awesome and the music hits you in the feels.

Ha ha I love this show

Tpoints

Attack on Titan takes a lot of inspiration from Germany, a lot of the soundtracks and names are in german and the civilisation that we know has german aesthetic influence too, so I think the civilisation Grisha is from takes inspiration from Nazi Germany too, but it's not necessarily meant to be Germany.

Brother E

Curtis did I not tell you when we first started this show that AOT will be on that HxH & FMAB level of storytelling? I told you weren’t ready for the constant mind fucks! And when you’re like “I had enough mind fucking.” Then BOOM you get mind fucked even harder and drizzled with a little bit of Titan gooshing.

Tpoints

On that topic there's a really interesting article on the germanic influence which is actually really far-reaching http://sequart.org/magazine/46892/germanic-influence-on-shingeki-no-kyojin/

You’re asking all the right questions. But as you can see they have photographs and airships so they’re a lot more advanced. The beast titan talked about pitches and a perfect game so they do have baseball. Think it’s safe to assume that the “black liquid” that Reiner, Bertholdt, and Zeke(beast titan) were drinking while camping on the wall was coffee. Making coffee is pretty complex

Now that you are nearing the end of Attack on Titan, I'm wondering if you are going to watch the Attack on Titan OVA No Regrets Part 1 and 2 afterwards. It would have been slightly better if you had already watched them before but I am sure many of us would still want to see you react to those since they are really good.

Telling you this now Curtis but without spoiling. You're gonna need a lot of head space to digest this next ep. Pause as much as you want and write notes if you have to LMAO.

To be honest, there is no better time to worry about insubordination than when the stakes are extremely high because that's when insubordination might cause the most damage. Mikasa's and Eren's defiance could have cost both Armin's AND Erwin's life since they were wasting time by arguing and fighting against Levi. Since both Armin and Erwin were extremely close to death they might have both died before either of them got the injection because of this insubordination. Now, of course neither died during that time since the plot demanded it but the insubordination could have cost humanity a great deal.

Welcome, to the backstory of Eren's dad.

SpazBoysComedy

Yea, I understand, by the letter of the law, it's clearly insubordination. However, given the nature of the events, and Levi's own actions that showed the insane stakes and emotion of the situation, I think it's something that could have gone without punishment. They decided not to overlook it, so they'll have to do the time.

Wishmaker007

There’ll be lots of information to digest in the next few episodes so take your time absorbing because it’ll both parts confusing and fascinating :)

Thank you for realising the Nazi Germany paralells, I see people like "oh why are they putting on armbands" all the time on other reactionn channels. Like damn idk bro that's so weird lol what an alien concept that I've never heard of or seen before.

DarkRaven

This is so bizarre but i guess attack on titan always turns around a viewers thinking. just when you feel like everything is more clear it hits you with something more crazy

Tyler

Yeah it was really weird seeing a lot of people not really get the obvious parallels. Makes you realize how badly the public education system fails some people.

Cetacean Needed

I just got caught up to the manga (as in like, 20 minutes ago). No spoilers of course, but damn is it a ride. If anyone claims to predict what happens they're either a damn liar, or a time traveler who is also a damn liar. I guess my point is that it's like a Killer Queen, dynamite with a laser beam, guaranteed to blow your mind, and it'll keep doing it. On the topic of this episode, who knew that all along the real key to the basement would be Levi's foot?

DevilJynx

Curtis: "What if they key doesn't fit the hole?" Attack On TItan: *Looks at Curtis* *Looks away*

Miasimon

Seems like the writer wanted to blue ball us as much as humanly possible, this episode/chapter. "Oh we're finally going to the basement!" Let's have Eren and Mikasa walk the slowest walk and fit in as many mini flashbacks as possible. "The basement door is right fucking there and they're physically touching it!" Wrong key. "We're in the basement!" Nothing interesting there. "A hidden compartment in the desk that the key unlocked!" It's empty.

Anonymous

Blow your mind is correct. Now that you've caught up watch the Eren dream scene at the start and notice what he says after he wakes up.

Anonymous

I actually think it’s pretty well done. The walk is a little long but it really does well to build suspense while contrasting their youth to the present. And i think it’s pretty realistic for this stuff to be so hidden, he’d only want one of only two people to find it

If that's an internment camp it's the best damn internment camp I've ever heard of or read of.
