It's good to remember that Bertholdt was ranked 3rd out of all of the training Corp cadets. And the instructor himself said he was a master in every skill. He's definitely no slouch to combat but was only held back by his timidness

Ok, now I heard Dio from that guy. Couple earlier times I didn't hear it because he had only line or two in the episodes.

Just a reminder to watch the post credit scene for episode 56 of Attack on Titan.

WHOLESOME DEUS

Bertholdt said "I'm American, watch me nuke y'all"

Now I'm really not sure about this but I believe the "black tea" that Reiner and Bertholdt were drinking is meant to be coffee. It seems that humanity within the walls doesn't even know what coffee is.

Erwin Smith and Jotaro share the same voice actor. Beast Titan and Dio share the same voice actor. It seems these two guys are meant to be enemies no matter the anime.

Bertholdt’s character is so great. In seeing the pain everyone is experiencing, he adopts a new type of sympathy: to bring an end to everything. He comes to terms with the fact that if he’s ever gonna return to the home he cares about he must fulfill his duty no matter how wrong or painful. And in achieving this peace within his own heart he finally becomes the warrior he was always meant to be. Not fearing death, consequences, or the results. After all regardless of who wins and loses, it doesn’t matter in the scope of this cruel world, it will remain cruel all the same.

We now know who the Beast Titan is, his name is War Chief Zeke.

Miasimon

I admire your self control. To watch this season WITHOUT binging every episode of this part is something I'd never be able to do.

Marco was done dirty, poor guy.

Ok, where did this nuke transformation come from? We didn't see anything beyond the typical lightning with his 2 appearances in S1. Even the transformation in S2 didn't look anything like this. With how great this show's writing is I never understood how they even knew he could nuke-transform. Still one of the greatest shows I've ever seen, just wondered if anyone here knows if I missed something.

Wishmaker007

I think its based on how they want to transform, like when eren transformed to stop the mortal shell and grabbing the spoon. So bertholdt's goal could've been to cause a huge explosion, would also explain his transformation in S2 when its just half a body.

What I like about this show is that no one is really acting out of evil intentions. Annie was mortified with herself for helping kill Marco, Bertholdt hates what they're doing and just wants it all to be done with, Reiner grew attached to his fellow cadets and I think his trauma came from what he and Bertholdt did back in S1. Afterall both were about 12 years of age at the time and were likely brainwashed by whomever told them to do this. Zeke also acknowledges everything they're doing is cruel and so far it seems like he's doing it out of necessity and not enjoyment of killing people.

Man watching Marco go is so rough. it’s always hard seeing a sympathetic character beg for their life, but attack on titan does it a lot. Usually though it’s because of titans, here he’s begging his comrades not to let him die, man it’s rough. I almost preferred not knowing how he died lol

Philip Repp (Bebop56210)

I was at the same point as Curtis but couldn't wait and started binging (almost done with this season). Man I can't wait to see his reaction to everything lol. Especially Armin C... AC... XD

As for why Bertholdt was able to keep up with Mikasa, we forget that he and Reiner were ranked #3 and #2 respectively in terms of titanslaying ability within the 104th, only inferior to her and not by very much.
